Thank you Andy...

for the old/new camera! I can blog with great photos (I should learn how to take good pictures first)! I apologize for being absent from blog land. I have had many things to write about but not enough time (likely excuse).
I have great news...my day job is having a Handmade Holiday Boutique! What does this mean for me? Well, this means I get my first chance in selling my homemade goodies! Yippy! I am so, so excited about this. I have already started creating glittered cone candy boxes:

The Boutique is on November 30th, which leaves me about 6 weeks to create in my lab. I hope those of you who happen to have that day off can come and visit me! I assure you I will keep you posted from here til' then!
Halloween is just around the corner and for the first time in many years I have not gotten a costume together (yet). I have an idea, and I am inspired by the Alice in Wonderland theme. IF the costume comes together, i will be sharing photos!
I hope all is healthy and happy, I will leave you with yet another Halloween Vignette:

Another woman's trash...

is my found treasure! Remember those glittered pumpkins you saw last post? Well, I was walking Mochi the other night and saw this tray on the sidewalk and I knew the glittered pumpkins is just what it needed to bring life back to it.

I think the whole tray (including M&Ms) cost me less than $15! I love, love it!
Other Halloween Vignettes (as promised) around the house...

I love what Spanish moss can do!
I also received this in the mail today...

I think the French Inspired Jewlery Book is a great addition. After skimming through, it makes me want to bust out my bead stuff and create something. The Last-Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts book has a couple of neat things but it is filled with many recipes for quilts (which doesn't seen very last-minute to make). All the same, I love new books!
Happy mid-week friends!

DON'T READ THIS...

if you're reading Harry Potter and haven't finished. Actually, I'm probably the only one who just finished! I was excellent at avoiding the buzz about the ending of Deathly Hallows. I found that everybody seemed sad and I thought that was do to a rumor that Harry dies at the end. However, now that I'm through I came to the conclusion that people are sad because it's the end of an affair we've had for so long with Harry Potter. For those of you who are not into the series this must be a relief. You won't have to read me drone on and on. But I do feel a relationship has come to a close (a bit mellow-dramatic eh?).

You've probably already guessed, I spent most of the weekend reading. The rest of the weekend was spent:

Crafting with CLOSE friends...

Visiting with OLD friends...

and meeting NEW friends...

I can't seem to get enough of Halloween decorating! I created this wreath over the weekend...

and I have more Halloween vignettes to come!

"Daddy, look-one of the gnomes actually bit me!"
"How wonderful! gnome saliva is enormously beneficial" said Mr. Lovegood, seizing Luna's outstretched finger and examining the bleeding puncture marks. "Luna, my love, if you should feel any burgeoning talent today-perhaps an unexpected urge to sing opera or to declaim in Mermish-do not repress it! You may have been gifted by the Gernumblies!'

Yo Yo

Maker! (does the photo clarify it Mel?) I purchased this fun gadget at the new quilting/sewing shoppe minutes from my house! http://www.quiltingbee.com/. They have great fabrics there and are offering classes, which I decided to sign up for. I've been wanting to refresh my skills on basic sewing techniqes and it will also encourage me to FINISH a project! I have so many unfinished projects that I can post about it for days. I'm hoping the yoyos I make will become a blanket some day.
The weekend started off with a trip to Petaluma. I went to Halloween and Vine...a show with several artist booths that carried unique Halloween offerings. Unfortunatly by the time I got there many items were sold and I was too much of a chicken to ask to take photos (boo hoo). But It was a great source of inspiration. On the way home I had to make a stop to:
I bought fabulous lights for the next room in my dollhouse! I also bought a pie for the front window of the house. You will see these items in future posts! Kevin decided to take the coast drive back...Mochi and I thought it was a great idea. Check out her face in the picture! One word describes this BLISS!!

Saturday ended with a dinner with wine pairings and the Sharks game. They won too!

The weekend ended with tea and Dim Sum...

A great way to end the weekend!
