From the Weekend...

(photo courtesy of SF Weekly) It began with this amazing performer.

There was hiking.

There was balancing.

There was rock building.

And the building of a Jacuzzi in the river!

There was lots of swimming.

Ending with a shopping trip to Poot's House of Cactus.

It's A S'mores-Gasbord!

Did you know August 10th was national S'mores day? Well, it inspired me to celebrate my birthday by gathering a fire and roasting some fluffy goodness! Of course I needed an invitation, this is what I came up with:

Found these awesome boxes at Kelly Paper and also bought a pack of brown paper labels to print the addresses and invitations.

I filled the invites with a mini S'mores kit.

Then the fun part came, shopping for different ingredients!

I found huge 2x2x2 giant and striped marshmallows at Candy Warehouse!

Home baked goodness!

This is how the S'mores-Gasbord came out:

This is how things looked when the sun went down:

What could be better? Friends, treats and fire! I truely live for these moments!

Ham Porter: Hey, Smalls, you wanna s'more?
Smalls: Some more of what?
Ham Porter: No, do you wanna s'more?
Smalls: I haven't had anything yet, so how can I have some more of nothing?
Ham Porter: You're killing me Smalls! These are s'more's stuff! Alrite now pay attention. First you take the graham, you stick the chocolate on the graham. Then you roast the 'mallow. When the 'mallows flaming... you stick it on the chocolate. Then cover with the other end. Then you scarf. Kind of messy, but good!

All Aboard!

You guessed it...we went to Roaring Camp in Felton! It's one of those places I always see in Sunset magazines that I said to myself "I must check that place out!"

The best thing about this place (besides cruising through the redwoods) is you can bring the fur babies!

As I mentioned, the train goes through the redwoods and makes a stop to enjoy this amazing redwood tree ring.

This a probably the home of a massive spider.

This is what Roaring camp calls "the shot of the day."

Definitely a place to check out if you get the opportunity.

What is it about Pinball...

That made us stay 4 hours at Pacific Pinball and play until our fingers fell off?
K and I took advantage of a long weekend and checked out places that are in our own neighborhood that we haven't been to, but always talked about.

First stop was this awesome place!

They carry pinball machines from 1800's-1980's

For a mere $15 you can play all the pinball your heart desires! Including the juke box, which I took advantage of and played all the classic 80's jams you can think of!

Love the graphics on these machines!

I couldn't get K out of the 80's pinball room...

Seriously...he would not leave to go check out older machines...

Like this one!

But I must admit my favorite was in the 80's room...Road Show!!!

Our pinball excursion was followed up with this:

Stay tuned for our next excursion. I'll give you a hint: Trains

“Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth you'd probably be able to get a lot of free games.”

I Should Hand Over the Camera...

Because K took this awesome photo! It looks like a watercolor, but it's actually the reflection of the hills in the water. It's nice to see a different perspective, from your own.

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”

From the Weekend...

The sweetest napkins drying the old school way...in the sun.

Teacups delivered by the postman.

Nothing like crafting in the sunshine.

The best hairdo I saw this weekend.

Shadow kisses that make it look like I have no neck.

Enough said.
