10 Things You Probably Don't Know About Me

1. I have to clean the house before I can do any crafting.

2. I've met Black Thought from The Roots.

3. K and I had swing dance lessons long ago.

4. I've been elbowed in the nose by a crazy dancer at a show. Now I have a fear of flying elbows.

5. I've been pulled on stage at the Blue Man Group show and was almost forced to eat Twinkies.

6. I dislike Twinkies.

7. I can make a mean lasagna.

8. Rocks rubbed against concrete makes me cringe.

9. I don't like the smell of Alyssum flowers.

10. The first fish I caught was a catfish.

A Great Big Thank You and a Welcome!

Thank you for all who came out and supported me today. It was nice to meet new friends and see old ones too! If you're new to the Pixie Paper Arts blog, welcome and please stay awhile!

I quickly sold my dearest Siamese Twins. You know what that means right? I'm about to end this post and get to work!

I will be out there again tomorrow if you're in Livermore, we would love to see you!

A New Breed of Pixie Monsters

The Siamese Twins feel right at home on their stage. This pair is very dear to my heart, it took them awhile for them to come alive! I'm trying to create another pair before the show.

On the next stage...
We have the button "Badge" collection.

Each Monster is adorned with it's very own coordinating badge.

A face only a Mother could love!

Dear Summer Garden,

Have I not shown you love? Did I not work with you and follow all the rules? Why haven't you produced for me like I imagined? At the beginning of the season I had wild thoughts of strolling through luxurious greenery, picking fruit right off your vines. But you have only brought me yellowed leaves, powdery mildew and small fruit barely big enough for me to make a meal. You've made me envious of other gardeners and their lush gardens. Don't get me wrong, I have to give you credit for the cherry tomatoes. But sometimes you make me feel like a disgrace for being a farmer's daughter! I think it's time we break it off. I'm moving on to Winter Garden in hopes of having a better relationship.

Until Next Season,
Romy

Mushroom Box

If you are familiar with some of the items I make, then you are familiar with my shroom picks. Based on past experience your average Jane doesn't know how to use the picks, so I asked K to build me a box.

I created a miniature display with a pine cone house, moss, a fence and of course the shroom picks.

The box has dual purposes, display and inventory.

Of course the picks can be used as gift toppers, terrariums, in a plant display, etc.

I also created a new color, deep green with white polka dots. The picks can be purchased at Quilting In The Garden or Etsy after Sept 25th-26th (unless you can't wait to have them then just leave a comment).

Tomatoes to extend your summer season for your Christmas tree or your sewing pins.

These tomatoes are made of vintage, velvet and satin fabrics! How delicious!

Announcement

You know that epic event I mentioned? Well, I am pleased to announce that I will be one of the featured artists at...

Alden Lane's 2010 Quilting In The Garden

Alden Lane is a lovely Nursery located in Livermore California, that features century old oaks from which artists' quilts are hung from. Every year they have the Quilting In The Garden Event and I've been told this is a well attended event. This event is epic for me because it will be the first time I will be selling my home made goods in public (aside from my holiday work boutique)!

My limited edition felt dresses will be featured and signed at the event and I will also have a table there to show the masses what else I create! As you can imagine my hands have been keeping busy making items for the September event.

I am so excited and I'm sure you will be reading a lot more about this event in the upcoming posts!
