Here's my tiny collection I promised to share. I remember the apple was always wobbling in my parents bedroom, I had all about forgotten it until recently. I spotted it shoved in a dark corner of my pop's place when he was remodeling.
I asked shyly "Can I have it?", Pop's response "You remember that?"

Photo Booth Photos are Up!

Remember this post awhile back? The photo booth pictures are our most favorite captured memories from the wedding. There was no way we were just going to shove them in an album. Unfortunately, we don't have much wall space so I had to choose 51 strips out of 148 to put up on the walls! I whined and moaned until K said we can switch frames out periodically to keep it fresh.

I found 11 3/4" x 36" frames on clearance at Michael's that worked perfectly for this project. With spray tac, double stick tape, a ruler and a bit of elbow grease this is what we came up with:

When did Thifting become Antiquing?

I remember when I started thrifting as a teenager and would find the best stuff!! I was in a thrift store last weekend and I could not find one single English tea cup! I remember there would tons of them years ago, so I headed to an antique store nearby and they were asking at least $15 a piece for one! At that point I realized that all the "good stuff" I use to see in thrift stores has become an antique! Here is what I picked up with money in hand...

Polaroid Tuesday :: Week 40

A long, long time ago I watched a really strange movie called Wool 100%. I don't recommend the movie, although they had a really adorable Roly Poly doll like the one pictured above that I fell in love with. I'm not sure if I had one as a child or because of the movie, but when I saw the sweet girl above it stirred up some nostalgia within me.

For those of you who don't know what a Roly Poly is, just click the name. I've always thought they were called weeble-wobbles for some reason. I've got a small collection of them going now, that I will share with you soon.

High Tea for A Special Friend...

We celebrated a birthday with high tea at Cynthia's Tea Garden.

We were treated to fruit dolloped with cottage cheese and geranium flowers, followed by tea sandwiches and topped off with a personal dessert plate!


Between the 3 of us, I think we finished about a total of 5 pots of tea (don't forget the lumps of sugar)!

As you can imagine, we were quite wired!

This tea experience makes me toy with the idea of throwing a Mad Hatter's tea party...hmmmm...the wheels are turning...

He's On A Roll...

I don't want to sound ungrateful, but my craft space is shared with our closet space, so we are forced to come up with creative ideas on storage. Remember the ribbon rack from the previous post?

Right next to it is a mirror:

We came up with an ingenious idea to utilize the space:



K built shelves for me to organize my art journals and such. The art journals have interesting bindings and it's nice to see them when I first walk into room, however they are completely invisible looking at the front of the mirror.

After that was built, K saw more potential storage in the space between the closet and wall:

Using left over material from the kitchen remodel he built shelves for my rolls of paper!

What I'm Focused on These Days...

A bit of organization is due...

I guessed K also thought so (or he's trying his best to snap me out of post wedding planning blues) because it was his idea to build this for me...

A ribbon rack!

It cost less than $6 and about 1/2 hour to make!



All you need is (all materials available at Lowe's):
• 2 decorative blocks of wood
• 5/8"x4' dowel
• metal "L" brackets (we recycled from an old fan) and some screws

K built it, but I think it went like this:
• Drill a 5/8" round circle in each piece of wood, don't drill through the whole wood, just a "divot" that each end of the dowel cansit in.
• Using the "L" brackets secure pieces of wood to the wall with screws about 4' top to bottom.
• Put one end of dowel in divot, slip your rolls of ribbon on the dowel.
• Slightly bending the dowel, place the other end in the other divot and voila!

If You Guessed 80's Party...

You guessed right! We attended a totally awesome birthday based on the 1980's. Here we are dressed up fabulously, unfortunately you can't see K's fanny pack (which I decided is very convenient to have). My shoulder pads actually look small in this photo. I wish my hair did that in the 80's. It took half a can of Aqua-Net and a whole lotta of teasing! I also had a bottle of Sun-In and had a whole dancing routine to go along with it! It was totally radical!

I Heart Photo Booths!

Who doesn't????? We were so lucky to find a photo booth company in San Francisco that produces old school black and white photo strips using modern technology.


Glass Coat Photo Booth Company represented themselves at our wedding and provided us and our guests with an heirloom of awesome photos!


Afterwards they sent me a DVD of all the photo strips and hosted it on there website gallery!


I don't mean to sound like this is a plug for them but I was truly impressed! I've got a grand idea on how I will display the photo booth pictures, stay tune for the reveal!

A Basket, A Dog, and A Husband & Wife

Last week I wanted to hang out and think about nothing...

So I threw a few items in the picnic basket...

We grabbed the dog...

and we toasted as a married couple!

Seeing family and friends during the wedding made me realize that we need to celebrate each other everyday because you never know what the next day will bring, even if it's just sitting around doing nothing.

I don't think many guests knew about this teensy locket of my mother on my wedding bouquet. It's a picture of her on her wedding day. It's a nice sentimental gesture for any bride's bouquet!

Is there such thing?

The past year and a half has been a DIY whirlwind all leading up to an evening of nuptial spectacular! However, now that it's over
I find myself wandering around the house looking for wedding items to reminisce over and I'm not interested in doing much of anything else. Everyone always said "what are you going to be doing with yourself after the wedding?", quite frankly I don't know! What did I do before?????

I guess I should start thinking about all those unfinished projects I have laying around the house and go back to reading craft blogs instead of spending my time going through wedding blogs! Or maybe, just maybe I should start thinking about helping others plan their own weddings? Hmmm... a passing thought.
